Music on Market News

Music on Market presents the unique musical experience of John Bullard playing classical music on banjo.  The program, Baroque with Pluck, will remind the listeners of the sound of the lute or harpsichord from the great baroque age.  The concert is October 21 at 7:30 pm in the sanctuary of Saint Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church.

 

 

Music on Market presents an evening of big band jazz performed by the Wilmington Chamber Orchestra, a 16 piece ensemble with strings, brass, percussion, woodwinds, and harp.  The orchestra features the solo saxophone of Maxwell Snyder. Come listen to fine entertainment on September 23 at 7:30 PM at Saint Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church. The concert is free.

Wilmington Chamber Orchestra

Brethren

Music on Market will present the professional male chorus from Northern Virginia, Brethren, in a concert featuring an eclectic mix of many musical genres on January 13, at Saint Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church at 7:00 PM.  The group is well known throughout the Northern Virginia area as well as throughout the Southeast.  You won’t want to miss this performance.

Scott Silbert Jazz Quintet

Music on Market will close out the 2023-2034 concert season with an evening of jazz from Artie Shaw and Benny Goodman performed by the Scott Silbert Jazz Quintet.  Silbert has a long illustrious career including many years with the US Navy Commodore band.  Subsequent to his retirement from the military, Silbert has formed a big band jazz ensemble as well as the quintet that will perform for MoM.  Come welcome Silbert and his group to Wilmington on April 13 at 7:30PM at Saint Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church.  Silbert will present a short lecture at 7:00PM to enlighten you on the jazz era and its great music.

The TAM(T³) trio will perform on March 2, 2024, at 7:30 pm at Saint Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church in a Music on Market concert.  Their program will include classical, folk, jazz, and pop selections in a concert that will span the ages.  Come welcome them to Wilmington for an evening of great musical entertainment.

Music on Market presents the SACPC Bell Choir and accompanying instruments in a concert ranging from Irish ballads to ABBA in the Sanctuary of SACPC on May 13 at 7:30 PM.  This concert will have something for all ages.  Different bell ringing techniques will be utilized to add variety to the program.  Come out to enjoy an entertaining evening of music.
